Abstract

Nowadays, the foundation and basis of drilling networks designs in areas with hydrocarbon potential are based on detailed geomechanical and geological information and the use of related software and the integration of this data and its inclusion in design is an integral and fundamental. Therefore, before exploratory drilling, it is necessary to evaluate the tectonics conditions of the area in order to select the best places for high efficiency drilling. The area studied in this research is Mego region in the northwest of Tabas. Then, using field observations, mechanical characteristics in the field, then using software such as, Streonet, Daisy, Win tensor, Roclab ،the stress field was calculated for each station, and then the normal and shear stress were obtained. Calcultions showed that in the folds the failure envelope Mohre circle didn't reach the Mohr–Coulomb failure criterion, and therefore there was no failure in the fold limbs. According to the calculations, to failure in fold limbs, it is necessary to reduce the value of σ3 and move from the point of 44 Mpa to 27.5 Mpa.
