Abstract

Transverse-shear lineaments which are almost deep seated can be recognized through analysis of their effect on cover sequence deformation. Identification of these deformations using satellite images are common procedure in larger scale study. In field scale, however, their identification needs detail structural studies on their deformation features. In this study, five lineaments that are located in the west of Khorramabad, in Zagros fold and thrust zone were detected. This lineaments were identified using satellite images, magnetism data, large scale deformations (changes in orientation of rivers disruption and separation on the Khorramabad fault and curvature on fold axial traces) and field scale structural evidences (strike duplex structures, changes of position and mechanism of thrust faults and changes of axial surface and north limb of minor fold)
